I was a youngster then, and later was taught by Stuart Ellerton. Adrian introduced me to the Dovecot Youth Jazz Orchestra, ran by Stuart Johnson (sax). I saw Adrian play with Paul Flush (piano), Rick Taylor (trombone), Steve Pierce (bass) as the jazz 4 piece Full Circle at the Dovecote arts centre. I still have and regulary listen to their album, which is exceptional. Adrian had a full set of timbales and cowbells on that live gig, and he was supberb. Adrian has just started (end of 2011) his own website http://www.justdrumming.co.uk/ which has a great bibliography on there. He's also started teaching again, unfortunately I no longer live in Teeside, otherwise I'd be taking to the sticks again.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
