This is intended to be a homage to very many musicians I've loved since I started listening to music. My intention is to tell what I know about them, hoping that those people who like them too, will help me fill numerous gaps, which I may have in their careers and discographies. Sorry, but there are no MP3 audio files here at all, just info (and love for the musicians).

BIOGRAPHY:

Great bassist, he was born Dave Eric Bronze on April 2nd, 1952, in Billericay, Essex, England.

GLYDER

First band I know with Dave is Glyder, but don´t have any info about other members.

MICKEY JUPP BAND

This was the Mickey Jupp Band in 1979:

MICKEY JUPP BAND #4

Bob Clouter

Sometime during 1979, Bronze and Clouter were replaced by Pat Donaldson and Dave Mattacks.

New lineup for Mickey Jupp Band in June 1980, with Dave Bronze and Bob Clouter coming back to the band:

MICKEY JUPP BAND #6

CHRIS FARLOWE BAND

Dave was a member of Chris Farlowe Band for a while, but don´t have any other info, sorry. He appears in the album Born Again, so I guess the period should be 1986. Can someone confirm this point, please?

ROBIN TROWER BAND (again)

The new lineup for their next two albums: Passion and Take what you need is:

ROBIN TROWER BAND #6
Sep 86-?
Robin Trower
guitar
Davey Pattison

Dave Bronze

Pete Thompson finally leaves, and Trower calls his past bandmate, Bill Lordan, for the rest of a tour.

New lineup with Bill Lordan back on board:

ROBIN TROWER BAND #11

But Trower dissolves the whole band in December 1989, when they were recording what was to be Trower´s new album, In the line of fire, being replaced by sessionmen in the recordings.

GARY BROOKER BAND

In 1987, he played in No Stiletto Shoes band with Gary Brooker, but I haven´t been able to find proper info about the lineup. Maybe Jerry Stevenson on guitar?

BAND DU LAC (Casual Gig: 1 gig)

In July 1989, there´s a very interesting concert in Surrey, England, with this impressive lineup:

At the end of 1990, Stevenson, Bronze and Jenkins leave to form their own band Be Sharp.

At the end of 1990, Be Sharp is formed from the inside of Barbara Dickson´s band:

BE SHARP #1
1990-Mar 91
êBarbara Dickson Band
êBarbara Dickson Band
êBarbara Dickson Band
Jerry Stevenson

Dr Feelgoodê

But Dave Bronze leaves them in March 1991 (to join Dr Feelgood). Years later (in 1997), they released a live album with this lineup, appropiately called Be Sharp Live!, recorded in 1991.

DR FEELGOOD

Soon later, Dave Bronze joins Dr. Feelgood in March 1991, in the middle of recording their album called Primo:

DR FEELGOOD #?
Mar 91-Aug 91
Lee Brilleaux
vocals, harmonica
Steve Walwyn
guitar
Kevin Morris
drums
Procol Harumê

But, Bronze is soon called to make some concerts with Procol Harum, leaving Dr. Feelgood for a while. This was August 1991.

PROCOL HARUM

New life for the mythical band when Brooker starts the band again in August 1991 (after their separation in 1977). Tim Renwick was asked to play in the USA tour promoting the album Prodigal stranger, as Robin Trower wasn't interested in touring. This was around August 1991:

PROCOL HARUM #9
Aug 91-Dec 91
êDr Feelgood
Gary Brooker
vocals, keyboards
Matthew Fisher
keyboards
Mark Brzezicki
drums
+
Keith Reid
lyrics

But in December 1991, Renwick left (being replaced by the incredible Geoff Whitehorn).

In January 1992, Geoff Whitehorn joins Procol Harum (where he still plays, appearing in almost every reunion by the band since then) after Tim Renwick leaves the band:

PROCOL HARUM #10
Jan 92-Apr 92
Gary Brooker
vocals, keyboards
Matthew Fisher
keyboards
Mark Brzezicki
drums
+
Keith Reid
lyrics

They played a long tour in 1992, but Matthew Fisher didn't stay for long this time, leaving in April 1992.

Don Snow replaces Matthew Fisher in Procol Harum in May 1992:

PROCOL HARUM #11
May 92-Jun 92
Gary Brooker
vocals, keyboards
Don Snow
keyboards
Mark Brzezicki
drums
+
Keith Reid
lyrics
Dr Feelgoodê

Also that same month, they went to play again with Edmonton Symphony Orchestra (the same orchestra they used for recording their live album from 1971, with Dave Ball on guitar).

After finishing the tour, Dave Bronze comes back to Dr. Feelgood in June 1992.

DR FEELGOOD (again)

Dave Bronze rejoins Dr. Feelgood in May 1992:

DR FEELGOOD #?
May 92-Jan 94
êProcol Harum
Lee Brilleaux
vocals, harmonica
Steve Walwyn
guitar
Kevin Morris
drums

As they thought of recording a live album, they augment the lineup with veteran keyboardist Ian Gibbons.

PROCOL HARUM

During June 1993, Dave Bronze tours again with Procol Harum for a while (supporting Jethro Tull), with a renewed lineup featuring 2 new musicians in the Procol ranks:

PROCOL HARUM #13
Jun 93
Gary Brooker
vocals, keyboards
Josh Phillips
keyboards
Ian Wallace
drums
+
Keith Reid
lyrics

A connection was made between the Procol gang and Jethro Tull´s bassist, as we´re going to read below....

THE HAMSTERS

In June 1993, The Hamsters´ bassist, Ms Zsa Zsa Poltergeist, had a problem in one of his hands and had to stop playing. Dave Bronze, old mate of Barry Martin, joined:

THE HAMSTERS #?
Jun 93-Sep 94

In September 1994, Bronze left and Poltergeist rejoined.

DR FEELGOOD (again)

The very interesting live album Down at the doctors, was recorded on January 24-25, 1994 as a quintet. The album was produced and mixed by Dave Bronze:

DR FEELGOOD #?
Jan 94-Apr 94

(died)ê
The Hamstersê

This was their last lineup with an original member, as their leader Lee Brilleaux sadly died on April 7th, 1994.

COLIN JOHN BAND

Somewhere during mid 90s, great American guitarist Colin John went to live to England, teaming with a killer rhythm section for a while:

AND MORE...

He has also played with Blodwyn Pig, Chris Farlowe, Ray Davies and Leo Sayer, but I still have to find details.

He has recorded with Roger Daltrey, Duane Eddy, Belinda Carlisle and Bryan Ferry.

And he also turned down the offer to join Pink Floyd!

Apart from all the facts I've told, I shouldn't forget that Dave usually plays in all the Lee Brilleaux tribute concerts celebrated along these years since his death. There, most of past and present members reunite to play Feelgood music, plus some friends and fans (such as Snowy White).
