BIOGRAPHY:
Virtuoso bassist, Rob Burns has played with many great bands and soloists. He was born Robert George Henry Burns on February 24th, 1953 in Willesden, London, England.

Since September 1972, when he became a professional musician, Rob Burns toured and recorded with The Stylistics, Sam & Dave, Edwin Starr, Isaac Hayes and Oscar Toney Jr., but I haven´t further details.

At the start of 1984, Eric Burdon resumed his own Eric Burdon Band (The Animals were reunited in 1983, with Zoot Money). Brian Godding joined Eric for most of the year, thus reuniting with old mate Zoot:

This particular lineup included many songs that Eric had not previously performed (covers of Warren Zevon, Woody Guthrie or Bruce Springsteen´s ´Working life´, to name a few). They played good concerts in Spain. This lineup lasted about 3-4 months, when Zoot and Pat Crumly departed.
The Eric Burdon Band kept on as a trio for a while, playing in Germany and again in Spain:

They used to play lots of blues standards, as well as covers of songs by Fleetwood Mac and Cream.
Barry Venn continued under this name with some other famous musicians (such as Neil Hubbard). Rob played bass on all four seasons of Not The Nine O'Clock News (including the albums and the live show, Not In Front of The Audience), Alas Smith and Jones, Blackadder series 3, the first episode of Mr. Bean and 2.4 Children, as well as 11 seasons of Red Dwarf.

As I´ve said, Rob moved to New Zealand in 2001 to start teaching music at the University of Otago, but he keeps very active in that musical scene, as we´re going to read.
