This is intended to be a homage to very many musicians I've loved since I started listening to music. My intention is to tell what I know about them, hoping that those people who like them too, will help me fill numerous gaps, which I may have in their careers and discographies. Sorry, but there are no MP3 audio files here at all, just info (and love for the musicians).

Milt Bernhart (trombone)

BANDS:
  • Benny Goodman Group
  • Stan Kenton Orchestra
  • The Lighthouse All-Stars
  • Boyd Raeburn Orchestra

BIOGRAPHY:

Milt Bernhart was born on May 25th, 1926 in Valparaiso, Indiana (USA). He started playing tuba, but then switched to trombone. His first famous combo was Stan Kenton Orchestra around 1946. One year later, he played with Boyd Raeburn and, in 1948, joined Benny Goodman (with Chico O´Farrill and Eddie Bert).

After some time with Goodman, he came back with Stan Kenton until 1952.

That was his last orchestra, starting playing in sessions, for people like Buddy Rich, Shorty Rogers or Pete Rugolo.

He also appeared in some album by rock artists, such as Mike Nesmith (singer in The Monkees), or pop artists (Ann-Margret or Doris Day).

Milt died on January 23th, 2004, due to multiple organ failure.
