Great piano player (also played vibraphone in his early times), his music goes beyond jazz. Stan Tracey was born Stanley William Tracey on December 30th, 1926 in Denmark Hill, South London, England.
Stan Tracey played with many jazz combos and orchestras, such as The Kirchin Band, Jimmy Deuchar Orchestra, Ted Heath Orchestra, bands led by Tony Crombie, Kenny Baker, Jimmy Deuchar, Tubby Hayes, Ronnie Scott, Harry Beckett, and many more. He also played in Charlie Watts Orchestra.
Stan Tracey passed away on December 6th, 2013 due to cancer. He was 86. His son is drummer Clark Tracey, who played in many of his father´s projects.
I haven´t had time to make a more complete discography of Stan Tracey, so here you can find some of his best works.
