This is intended to be a homage to very many musicians I've loved since I started listening to music. My intention is to tell what I know about them, hoping that those people who like them too, will help me fill numerous gaps, which I may have in their careers and discographies. Sorry, but there are no MP3 audio files here at all, just info (and love for the musicians).

BIOGRAPHY:

Great vocalist, Sheila McKinley (although most of her solo singles were credited to Sheila McKinlay) was born in Edinburgh, Lothian, Scotland on December 12th, 1941 (some other sources say 1946).

THE MCKINLEYS

The first band I know is The McKinleys, formed by sisters Sheila and Jeanette, around 1962:

They released several singles. Some of them supposedly contain Jimmy Page and Big Jim Sullivan on guitar. They also toured under the different name of The McKinley Sisters. They were on the bill on some of The Beatles´ early tours, back in 1964.

After a while, they moved to Germany, where they enjoyed bigger success.

Around 1971, they dropped the name, although Jeanette and Sheila still worked together from time to time (for example, touring with Paice Ashton & Lord or with The Barrelhouse Blues Orchestra).

Sheila McKinley toured and sang with Les Humphries Singers, but can´t find proper info about the period and lineups where she was involved:

AND THEN...

Sheila met Howie Casey in 1975. They married in 1980 (that´s why sometimes she appears credited as Sheila Casey), moving to Bournemoth, where they remained very active in the local scene.

      Yes, Sheila was with THE LES HUMPHRIES SINGERS 1973-75 and during the 1st comeback 91-93. I always loved her voice.

        Re. Does anybody know if she appears on any album by James Last?: She appeared with Last on the German TV show Starparade, lip-synching to a couple of songs from Last's album "Sing mit" - the vocal group appearing on the show was mainly Last's English choir (Sue Glover, Sunny Leslie, Russell Stone, etc.) plus a few German vocalists including Karin Menke and Antje Busch. Sheila was based in Hamburg at the time, doing some solo singles as well as singing with the Les Humphries Singers, so it's possible that she may have done some session work with Last (some of his musicians also played on Les Humphries' records).

        sheila sang on the first les Humphries singers album i believe/rock my soul in 1970 as a studio singer not in the group also on the 1971 albums singing explosion an we'll fly you to the promised land.
        in 1973 she joined the group on album carnival and sound 73/2 not on the cover.
        the next albums you find sheila on the cover: 1 Kansas city 2 sound 74 3 the golden world of 4 one of these days 5
        and roll party 6 rock and roll party 2 7 live for today 8 live 75 9 les Humphries sound 75 10 amazing grace and gospel train 11 party on the Rocks 12family show 13 profile is i believe/rock my soul album. she sang on the 1975 album not on cover singing and swinging worldhits for dancing
