Great jazz drummer, Ben Riley was born Benjamin A Riley on July 17th, 1933 in Savannah, Georgia. He studied with Cecil Scott, turning professional in 1956. He worked with Bobby Brown, then Gene Rodgers.
He was a member of New York Jazz Quartet, along with Roland Hanna, Ron Carter and Frank Wess.
