Not to forget that Derek Watkins has played on every one of the James Bond films. He was 19 when he recorded Goldfinger.
He has also composed (along with Colin Sheen and Jamie Talbot) on the TV series Midsomer Murders (2003), as well as releasing library music for KPM Music.
Derek has also arranged and composed for BBC television and has played on hundreds of jingles (Sony, Kleenex, Nescafe, MacDonalds, Martini, Mars, Clairol, BT, and Eurostar are just a few examples).
Derek still found time to perform as Visiting Professor for trumpet to the Royal Academy of Music, and gave master class clinics at music colleges all around Europe.
Derek Watkins sadly passed away on March 22nd, 2013 in Claygate, Surrey, England, after fighting for two years against sarcoma cancer. He was 68. He´ll be very missed.
