Fantastic, powerful drummer, Leon Ndugu Chancler was born Leon Chancler on July 1st, 1952, in Shreveport, Louisiana.
This is my tribute page to him, and I´m rushing to publish it due to Leon´s sad passing. The list of credits is too incomplete (143 albums credited here, right now), so I´m missing hundreds of album, but I´ll try to include more and more credits as soon as I get some free time, hopefully.

PATRICE RUSHEN BAND (again)
In May 2012, Patrice Rushen and Leon Ndugu Chancler played some gig in London, but don´t know the complete lineup. Help, please!:
Ndugu Chancler played in different soundtracks, also appearing in the Steven Spielberg movie The Color Purple (1985), along with Paulinho Da Costa and others.
He was also lecturer for the Jazz Department of the University of Southern California. Leon Chancler sadly passed on away on February 3rd, 2018 due to prostate cancer. He was 65. What a great player. Now it seems he´s more known for being the drummer in Michael Jackson´s ´Billie Jean´ song, but I appreciate much more his work with Santana, Jean-Luc Ponty, Herbie Hancock, George Duke and so many great albums where he excelled. Rest in peace.
