Great, prolific drummer, Hal Blaine was born Harold Simon Belsky on February 5th, 1929 in Holyoke, Massachusetts. He was part of the Wrecking Crew, the renowned group of session musicians in Los Angeles that appeared in thousands of recordings.
Although most of Blaine´s work was as a sessionman, he also toured with some artists, but this info is hard to obtain. So any contribution to this info would be very welcomed.
The list of his credits is absolutely endless (thousands, no joking at all!), so I´ve just put some of the ones I have. You´ll see great, mythical names here: Steely Dan, Beach Boys, J J Cale, Elkie Brooks, Carpenters, Johnny Cash, Cher, Leonard Cohen, Sam Cooke, Neil Diamond, Emmylou Harris, Phil Spector, Barbra Streisand, well, almost everyone! Also jazz names: Gerry Mulligan, Chet Baker, Teresa Brewer, Bud Shank, Bob Thiele... Hal Blaine also recorded a few solo albums on his own in the Sixties.
